Not only were they kind enough to give us a lesson in Oil Cleansing 101 (what oil cleansing is and why it can benefit different skin types) they also shared products from their line that they recommend for sensitive skin types with conditions like Rosacea, Psoriasis and Eczema, as well as those looking for products best for oily, & acne prone skin.
Finally, everything you ever wanted to know about oil cleansing. So let's get to it!
"We believe in holistic health; considering all aspects of mind, body and spirit when dealing with concerns and illness. Julie Clark, founder of Province Apothecary created this company with love and compassion. She is a highly motivated, passionate and driven individual, who is constantly learning new ways to improve and progress. It's no doubt her amazing energy rubs off onto the rest of our team! We have an organic skincare clinic in the heart of Little Portugal, around the corner from our flagship store in Toronto, where we specialize in Custom Facial Treatments and Custom Serum/Perfume Blending."

For oily, acne prone clients, our Clear Skin Advanced line works wonders at reducing inflammation, calming irritations, while deeply nourishing + healing acne flare ups."
*Did you know Fairface Washcloths are the "perfect soft washcloths" to use with oil cleansing, as they gently wipe away the oil and impurities without irritation to the skin?
A special thanks to Province Apothecary for sharing their expertise and helping us understand the ins, outs and benefits of oil cleansing! I can see why our Fairface Washcloths customers love it and it is definitely on my list of things to try! If you're ever in the area, stop by Province Apothecary (Toronto, Ontario, Canada) and see first hand what makes them so special & unique!
"We prefer oil cleansing over other methods because it isn't drying out the skin at all, and it re-balances the skin's oil production. Oil cleansing will create harmony with the skin and is great for all skin types. If you are naturally oily, don't be afraid! Oil cleansing will re-balance your skin and prevent over production of sebum. It's an especially great cleansing method for anyone dealing with dehydration, dryness, or irritation."
The Oil Cleansing Method has been popping up all over popular skin care blogs. Hundreds swear by its natural, soothing properties, and many of our Fairface Washcloths customers use our soft washcloths for this gentle nightly cleansing ritual.
But a question on everyone's mind, is how in the world do you wash your face with oil? Well, we're here to tell you how.

"We recommend using a damp wash cloth, towel or cotton pads to remove your oil cleanser [*see below]. This ensures all of the oil is gently removed from your skin. If oil is left behind after cleansing, you will not feel clean and clarified. Remove all of your oil cleanser from the skin before applying remaining skincare products. Oil cleansing can be done twice daily for best results (morning and night)."
"Oil cleansing is an ancient technique used to effectively and gently wash the skin.
First, dampen your skin with a bit of water. Wet skin is permeable skin, meaning the oil you apply will better penetrate your skin cells.
Use a few drops of oil, like our Moisturizing Cleanser + Makeup Remover, and massage the skin in upward strokes, making sure to cover all areas of the face."
